Zoe Kravitz is set to star in sci-fi action thriller Kin, directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker.  The feature will be based on their short film  Bag Man (premiered at 2015 SXSW), and will feature an all-star cast consisting of Jack Reynor, James Franco, and Dennis Quaid.

Kin revolves around a recently released ex-con (Reynor) and his adopted younger brother who are forced to go on the run. Chased by a vengeful criminal (Franco), the feds and a cadre of otherworldly soldiers, their only protection is a found weapon of mysterious ancestry. Quaid will play the father of the siblings, and Kravitz a young woman who joins them on the run.

The script was written by Daniel Casey and 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen will produce the film alongside Jeff Arkuss, David Gross and Jesse Shapira, whose No Trace Camping produced the Best Picture nominated Room.

Kravitz has starred in major motion picture films such as No ReservationsThe Brave OneX-Men: First ClassDope, and Yelling to the Sky.  Last year, she starred in Mad Max: Fury Road, which was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, and recently returned to her role as Christina in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, the third movie in the franchise. Kravitz is also set to star opposite Kate McKinnon and Scarlett Johansson in the comedy Rock That Body, and will be starring in feature thriller, Gemini, alongside John Cho.  In 2018, she will also star in the Warner Bros Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them alongside Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol.
