Wanda Sykes is set to join Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn in the 20th Century Fox comedy Mother/Daughter.  Kate Dippold (Ghostbusters) is set to write the script that is based on her relationship with her own mother, and Jonathan Levine will direct.

Sykes will play Ruth, a hotel worker who offers advice to the traveling characters played by Schumer and Hawn.

This weekend, Sykes will be shooting her Epix comedy special at the Ace Theater in downtown LA that is scheduled to air on October 21st.  Over the past year, Sykes has had recurring roles on shows such as Blackish and Alpha House, and has voiced characters on television shows and films such as Animals, Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero, Bob’s Burgers, and Rio.  Sykes will team up with the Ice Age crew again this summer, and will lend her voice to the fifth installment of the Fox franchise, Ice Age: Collision Course that will be in theaters on July 22nd.

Mother/Daughter will be produced by Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping through Chernin Entertainment.  Paul Feig and Jessie Henderson are producing through Feigco Entertainment.  Schumer and Kimberly Caramele will serve as Executive Producers along with Dippold.
