Black Hollywood is winning right about now, and we are happy to see that studios and networks finally see the value of diverse content!  With that being said, Academy Award winning actress Viola Davis has teamed up with Insecure co-creator Larry Wilmore for upcoming ABC multi-camera comedy, Black Don’t Crack.

Just in case you aren’t already aware, Black Don’t Crack is the term that is used to imply that the skin of black people rarely shows it’s age.  For example, Angela Bassett, Pharrell, and Gabrielle Union, to name a few, have literally looked the same for virtually 20 years!  Many people say it’s because they are vampires, but those within our race know the truth, and truth is simply because black don’t crack!

The series will revolve around three former sorority sisters who lost touch after college reunite during a pivotal point in each of their lives and realize that now that they are of a certain age sometimes it’s okay to crack and no one will be there for you like your sisters.

Davis and her producing partner/husband Julius Tennon executive produce via their JuVee Productions. Wilmore executive produces through his Wilmore Films. ABC Studios, where JuVee and Wilmore Films are both under overall deals, is the studio.

We are beyond excited for this news and can’t wait to see who they cast for the series, so stay tuned as we roll out more details on this epic project!
