America’s Got Talent has found its new host: Tyra Banks! One of the judges of the talent competition, Howie Mandel, broke the news via social media on Sunday that Banks will be replacing Nick Cannon as the new host. She’ll be joining a crew of Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell.

The America’s Next Top Model creator and host alum later took to social media herself to confirm the good news:

Tyra Banks has a long and illustrious career in modeling, beginning at age 15. She was the first African-American woman to grace the covers of GQ and the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Chosen as the first African-American to grace the cover of the Victoria’s Secret catalog, she also served as a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005. Her television career began on the fourth season of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and went on to create her production company Ty Ty Baby Productions, which was later changed to Bankable Productions. Bankable produced shows such as The Tyra Banks Show (which won her a Daytime Emmy Award), America’s Next Top Model and the 2008 film, The Clique. Her first big-screen role came via the drama, Higher Learning and later co-starred alongside Lindsay Lohan in the Disney film Life-Size. Other film credits include, Love Stinks, Love & Basketball, Coyote Ugly, Halloween: Resurrection, and Hannah Montana: The Movie.

She recently made a return to reality TV, serving as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s advisor on this year’s The New Celebrity Apprentice, so along with her tenure at Top Model, this will surely be familiar territory! We look forward to Banks’ success with her new role at the show!
