Regina Hall (The Best Man Holiday, About Last Night, Thank Like a Man) will be starring in Crushed, a comedy from writer Tina Gordon Chism (Peeples, ATL) that will be streaming on Hulu.

Crushed will be produced by three female producers: Tina Gordon Chism and Stephanie Allain will serve as Executive Producers, and C. Deneen Brown will co-produce.  Brown is the president of Brown Estates, and believed to be Napa’s first and only African-American-owned winery.

This project was originally developed for HBO about a black family as they find success in the wine-making business in Napa, California, where they stand out for their unique approaches to wine and lifestyle. A brief synopsis is below:

Down on his luck since not graduating from Harvard Medical School five years go, Will Black has been eking out a precarious living on the family’s all but abandoned vineyard estate, where he sells grapes to a successful nearby winery for a pittance. Will’s not enthusiastic about the arrival of his sister, Celia, also down on her luck; however, in a flash of inspiration, Celia realizes that the family’s struggling vineyard may be just the place where she and Will can re-invent themselves, and the two siblings prepare to take on a last-ditch challenge that just might be the making of them both.”

It looks like Hulu is working hard to compete with its streaming competitors, Netflix and Amazon.  We are certainly looking forward to this project!
