Tika Sumpter will Join Jamie Lee Curtis in upcoming political thriller The Pages written and directed by Chicago Fire executive producer Joe Chappelle (The Wire, Fringe).
Sumpter plays a former top U.S. security adviser who is threatened by associates from her dark past, including a steely, commanding politician (Curtis) and an unyielding, patriotic chief of staff.
The film will be produced by Colleen Griffen for CorradoMooncoin and executive produced by Candy Straight.
Tika Sumpter has had a variety of roles including her role as Candace Young, the leading character on the Oprah Winfrey Network primetime soap opera, The Haves and the Have Nots. Sumpter later played Angela Payton in the comedy films Ride Along (2014) and Ride Along 2 (2016), Yvonne Fair in the biopic Get On Up (2014), and the legendary Michelle Robinson Obama in the romantic comedy-drama Southside with You (2016). She is also set to star alongside Taraji P. Henson in Tyler Perry’s upcoming comedy-drama film Acrimony, and was recently cast in the Fox Searchlight film Old Man And The Gun.
