Actress Tessa Thompson (Dear White People, Thor: Ragnarok) has been tapped to join the film Sorry to Bother You alongside Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) and Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out, Straight Outta Compton)

The film follows a black telemarketer with “self-esteem issues” who discovers a magical key to success in business, which thrusts him into the “upper echelons of the hierarchy” just as his comrades rise up against unjust labor practices. When he uncovers the “macabre secret” of his corporate bosses, he has to decide whether to stand up or sell out.

Filming will begin this month in Oakland, Calif., at the same studio where Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station was filmed.

Thompson’s star power is quickly rising, and she has been on our radar for quite some time now.  She is quickly developing a track record for being cast to very dynamic and diverse roles.  Most recently, she appeared in HBO’s Westworld, and is set to appear in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok as well as Alex Garland’s sci-fi film, Annihilation, opposite Natalie Portman, and will star in the upcoming indie film, Little Woods.
