Lots of really great casting news has been announced recently, and this news is another great addition to the women of color who have been cast to pilots this season.  Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable) is set to star as a series regular alongside Famke Janssen, Ryan Eggold and Edi Gathegi in NBC’s spinoff from The Blacklist.  Deadline reports that Cypress will be introduced during the last few episodes of The Blacklist as a recurring character, and will become a regular on the spinoff if NBC decides to green light the series for the season.

As of right now, plot details of the spinoff are being kept under wraps, but the series would star Famke Janssen (How to Get Away With Murder) and Edi Gathegi (The Twilight Saga: Full Moon) with Michael Dinner (Justified) directing.  Deadline confirms that the pilot would air May 12th.

Cypress has appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, NYPD Blue, Third Watch, and Johnny Zero. She also starred in feature film World Trade Center.  She has starred in Heroes, K-Ville, Army Wives, and Rescue Me, and also had roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Warehouse 13, Blue Bloods, and The Good Wife. Most recently, Cypress was a regular in Unforgettable and had a recurring role on Netflix’s House of Cards.
