Indie comedy Support the Girls starring Regina Hall is set to screen at 2018 SXSW.  Hall is set to star in the film alongside co-star Haley Lu Richardson, James Le Gros, AJ Michalka, Dylan Gelula, Shayna McHayle, Lea DeLaria, Jana Kramer and Brooklyn Decker.

The film will make it’s world debut at SXSW on Friday, March 9th.

The comedy hails from writer-director Andrew Bujalski. Shooting is underway in Austin, and the plot centers on Lisa Conroy (Hall) who may not love managing the restaurant Double Whammies, but she loves her employees more than anything, not only Danyelle (McHale), and Maci (Richardson) her closest friends, but also her extended family. Unfortunately, the cheap, curmudgeonly owner Ben Cubby (Le Gros) doesn’t care nearly as much, and confronts Lisa when he learns that she’s using the restaurant to raise money for Shaina (Kramer), an employee in legal trouble related to an abusive boyfriend. To get even, the girls decide to sabotage the restaurant on the night of a major mixed martial arts fight.

Hall most recently starred as a lead in the comedy hit Girls Trip, which is the highest-grossing comedy of 2017 with over $115 million in the U.S.  Her additional recent credits include The Best Man and Think Like a Man.  Recently,  she was cast opposite Don Cheadle in Showtime’s upcoming half-hour Wall Street comedy pilot Ball Street.
