Author and award-winning television writer and producer Susan Fales-Hill (A Different World) currently hosts a series of in-depth interviews with groundbreaking thinkers and artists whose work has shaped our cultural landscape.  On Friday, May 19th @ 7:00pm, Fales-Hill will be joined by writer/director Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball, Beyond the Lights, The Secret Life of Bees) and her husband, writer/director Reggie Rock Bythewood (Get on the Bus, Dancing in September).

The discussion will take place at The Greene Space located at 44 Charlton Street, New York, NY, and will revolve around how film and television and has addressed and influenced the racial chasm in America today and the state of social justice.

Over the years the Bythewoods have created ground-breaking films that explore the universal themes of love, loss, ambition and longing through the lens of the contemporary African-American experience.  Their most recent work includes Shots Fired, a 10-hour event series for Fox, Imagine Television and Undisputed Cinema starring Sanaa Lathan and Aisha Hinds.

Prince-Bythewood is also set to direct An Untamed State, an adaptation of Roxane Gay’s debut novel for Fox Searchlight, and will be directing the pilot episode of the upcoming series from Marvel titled Cloak & Dagger.
