The star of Disney Channel’s hit series Andi Mack, Sofia Wylie, has landed her first big screen role, as the lead in Australian family soccer film Back of the Net.

Wylie will star in the film as Cory Bailey, and the film tells the story of science fanatic Bailey, who ends up at Harold Soccer Academy after catching the wrong bus and missing her parents, who are volunteering in remote India. She then completes a semester at the soccer school, where she battles with the star soccer player Evie, who makes life difficult for Bailey. However, as the school hosts the National Soccer Tournament, she is determined to beat Evie’s team in the finals.

The movie will begin filming later this month in Sydney, Australia with other cast members announced soon.

Wylie currently plays Buffy Driscoll in the coming-of-age series Andi Mack, which was recognized for being the first Disney series to incorporate an LGBT storyline.  In addition to Andie Mack, Wylie was the star of Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn and appeared in School of Rock.
