Last week, ABC confirmed that it had ordered another Shonda Rhimes pilot, Still-Star Crossed, which will somewhat be a sequel to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

The series is based on Melinda Taub’s novel Still Star-Crossed, and “will continue the story of Capulet and Montague, focusing on the two families’ continued feud following the death of Romeo and Juliet.  The families decide that the only way to end the bloody feud is by marriage.”

Shonda Rhimes has had a total of 4 shows on ABC: Greys Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and Private PracticeStill-Star Crossed will be Shonda’s 5th series on the network.

“I remember saying, very almost jokingly, I’m going to take over the world through television, that’s my plan. And I said it to my agent, and I said it to my friends, and I said it to myself.” – Shonda Rhimes

Shonda Rhimes is making history right now, and I have a feeling that she is just getting started.  Let the takeover continue!
