Andi Mack star Shelby Simmons and Cynthia McWilliams (Real Husbands of Hollywood) are set as leads in live-action Netflix multi-camera comedy The Prince of Peoria.  Simmons and McWilliams join the cast alongside Gavin Lewis (NCIS, Ominous) and Theodore Barnes (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

According to the description, The Prince of Peoria has a Coming to America vibe for the younger generation. When Emil (Lewis), a 13-year-old prince from a wealthy island kingdom, travels to the U.S. to live incognito as an exchange student, he strikes up an unlikely friendship with Teddy (Barnes), a fastidious, overachieving boy who is Emil’s total opposite.

Simmons plays Sydney. The daughter of two professors, Sydney is a straight-A student and the first chair violinist in the school orchestra, but secretly has a bit of a wild side.  McWilliams will star as Regina, Teddy’s fun-loving mom, who thinks her son takes himself way too seriously and would do anything to help him make friends.

Simmons is an actress, known for her work in Selfie Dad (2018), School of Rock (2016), Game Shakers (2015), and most recently she starred in the 2017 – 2018 season of the hit Disney series Andi Mack.  McWilliams has starred in series such as Amazon’s Bosch, The Odd Couple, The Real Husbands of Hollywood, and Nashville.  Most recently she was seen in the BET TV mini series The New Edition Story.
