Sharon Leal (Supergirl) is set to topline CBS’ untitled Jenny Lumet drama pilot! Per Deadline, the project is a character-based procedural from writer Lumet and Executive Producers Katie Couric, David Marshall Grant, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin and Richard Shepard, who also directs.

The drama centers on an elite team of investigators for the Northeast Regional U.S. Hate Crimes Unit who solve crimes against humanity as the continue to confront their own biases. Leal will portray the passionate and relentless Lt. Naomi Barr, leader of the hate crimes task force in NYC. She will join recently cast Sheaun McKinney and previously cast Grace Rex, Brad William Henke, Zach Appelman, and Kevin Daniels.

Over the past decade, Leal became known for her roles in films such as the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, This Christmas and in the Tyler Perry production Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too.  Most recently she starred in the Freeform (ABC Family) series Revolution Road, and was cast in CW superhero series Supergirl as one of newest additions to the DC television universe.
