A viral tweet could soon turn into a film that would change pop culture as we know it forever.  A photo of Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) taken during Paris Fashion Week three years ago, went viral last week, and it was mentioned that “Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men and lupita is the computer smart best friend that helps plan the scams.”  Nyong’o responded to the tweet and included Rihanna in the conversation stating, “I’m down if you are.”  Rihanna, Nyong’o’s potential co-star according to Twitter, responded “I’m in Pit’z.”

Twitter kept it going, as it does, and eventually the plot thickened calling out Issa Rae, creator and star of HBO’s Insecure, to write the script. She seemed on board with the idea.

Users then decided that 13th and Selma director Ava DuVernay should on be the director for the future heist film, and DuVernay also seemed eager to helm the fictional project.

Clearly Twitter stands 100% behind a “Spy” film starring Rihanna and Nyong’o, directed by Ava DuVernay and written by Issa Rae, so Hollywood, take note and let’s make this happen!

Rihanna, of course, is best-known for her widely successful music career (including being featured on several movie soundtracks such Star Trek Beyond, The Hangover, and Wreck-It Ralph), but has ventured into acting, making her debut via a cameo in 2006’s Bring It On: All or Nothing.  Her first theatrical film feature was in Battleship in 2012, and she is currently set to star in Amazon Studio’s music drama Annette.  Rihanna can be seen next in the female driven Ocean’s Eleven spinoff, Ocean’s 8,  scheduled to be released on June 8, 2018.

Nyong’o was most recently seen in the Disney drama Queen of Katweas the mother of a young Ugandan chess prodigy, and has joined the cast of the highly anticipated Marvel film Black Panther.
