Rhyon Nicole Brown (Lincoln Heights) is set to star in the Lifetime original film The Michel’le Story (working title) as the R&B artist Michel’le Toussant.  The biopic will revolve around the life of Michel’le who was discovered at a young age by N.W.A’s Eazy-E and became a platinum artist on Ruthless Records.  She was also the girlfriend of Dr. Dre for 6 years, the mother of his son Marcel Young, and is one of the many women who have spoken out publicly about being a victim of his physical abuse and domestic violence.  Michel’le has given detailed accounts of how Dre broke her ribs, and sent her to the hospital countless times.  “I was just a quiet girlfriend who got beat on and told to sit down and shut up.”  The Michel’le Story will be the first time that she reveals her entire truth to the world.  Most recently, Michel’le was one of the stars on TV One’s reality series R&B Divas: Los Angeles.

“I am so excited about my partnership with Thinkfactory Media. For many years I was unwilling to share my personal experiences. I am now ready to open up about my career, relationships and family.  I am confident that Thinkfactory Media will give an accurate depiction of my life and this tumultuous yet amazing journey I’ve been on.” – Michel’le Toussant

“Michel’le is one of the most talented, fearless women I have ever met, captivating audiences both on stage and in front of the camera. The past few years of working with her have been incredible and we are thrilled she’s allowing us to lower the veil to tell her inspiring inside story as no one else could.  Michel’le’s conviction for life and raw honesty deserves to be shared with the world, and we are honored to give her story justice.” – Adam Reed, EVP Thinkfactory Media.

Brown has starred in shows such as That’s So Raven, Judging Amy,  Everybody Loves Raymond, Boston Public and the ABC Family TV series Lincoln Heights.  She also appeared in 50 Cent’s semi-biographical film, Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

Curtis Hamilton has been cast to portray Dr. Dre, and R. Marcos Taylor, who starred as music executive Knight in Straight Outta Compton, will reprise his role in The Michel’le Story.

The Michel’le Story will be produced for Lifetime by Sony Pictures Television and Thinkfactory Media.  Leslie Greif will serve as executive producer, and production will begin next month.
