Regina King is set to return to a third season of ABC’s American Crime; however, in the midst of her busy schedule, she will also be a guest director of the upcoming Fox series, Pitch.  The series revolves around a young female pitcher (Kylie Bunbury) who becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues when she is chosen to play for the San Diego Padres.

“I’m excited.  I think the thing that’s that very cool is that it’s baseball.  It’s my first time directing something sports based. I think it might be interesting to see a female director’s perspective on telling that story….Part of your job when coming in as a guest director, you’re keeping with [the] tone that’s been established but still leaving your signature.” – Regina King

King made her directorial debut in 2013 when she directed an episode of Southland, and went on to direct episodes of Being Mary JaneScandal, and The Catch.  Currently, King is stars in ABC’s American Crime and The Leftovers.  She is well-known for her roles in The BoondocksJerry Maguire, and Ray
