Grammy and Emmy award winner Queen Latifah, is continuing her Hollywood and music legacy, and will serve as executive-producer of The Pop Game, an unscripted singing series recently picked up by Lifetime.

The network is expanding a franchise and building on the success of The Rap Game. The pop version will follow record producer-singer-songwriter Timbaland as he works with give aspiring vocal artists as they vy for a top spot on the charts. Top celebrity guest artists are set to appear and assist Timbaland’s team, including JoJo, Macy Gray, Nelly Furtado, and Jordin Sparks. They will all assist the kids and their manager parents in challenges that will teach and test the skills they’ll need.

The Pop Game is produced by Intuitive Entertainment and executive produced by Kevin Dill and Mechelle Collins, and Danny Salles, who is also showrunning. Latifah and her partner, Shakim Compere will serve as Executive Producers under the Flavor Unit umbrella, teaming with Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland.

The Pop Game is set to premiere on February 21 at 10PM.
