Salli Richardson-Whitfield’s Short Film ‘POST Life’ to Debut at Urbanworld Film Festival

Salli Richardson-Whitfield’s short film POST LIFE starring Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse, Real Husbands of Hollywood) and Vanessa Bell Calloway (Sinners and Saints) will make it’s debut at Urbanworld Film Festival on September 24th.

POST LIFE is based on the feature film written by Nikki Love and revolves around Cheryl McIntosh (Ash) who is haunted by her memories of the past, and having a difficult time coping with the anniversary of her daughter’s tragic death. Her mother, Diane, thinks it’s time to move on. As the two women confront each other, they are forced to face their own burdens of guilt and shame. Will they be able to move forward and heal before it’s too late?

The film was produced by Love and Richardson-Whitfield alongside executive producers Nina Yang Bongiovi (Fruitvale Station, Dope), Jerwana Hill, Calvin Roberts, William Lugo, and Yvonne Lugo.

Urbanworld Film Festival will take place on September 21-25, 2016 at Manhattan’s AMC Empire 25 on 234 West 42nd Street.  Please click HERE for tickets to POST LIFE.

Richardson-Whitfield has an acting career that spans over two decades. She has starred in classic 90’s films such as Mo’ Money, A Low Down Dirty Shame, Antwone Fisher, and starred opposite Will Smith in I Am Legend. Recently, Richardson starred as Department of Defense agent in the Syfy comedy-drama series Eureka, and went on to direct multiple episodes of the series. Richardson-Whitfield recently directed an episode of Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar, and will soon be directing an episode of the Freeform drama series Shadowhunters.
