American-Jamaican actress Parisa Fitz-Henley (Midnight, Texas) has been tapped to star as the American actress and fiance of Prince Henry, Meghan Markle in the upcoming Lifetime film Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.

According to the film’s synopsis, the film will examine the history of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the moment they met after being set up by friends, through their initial courtship when they were able to keep their romance under wraps, and ultimately the intense global media attention surrounding their relationship and Meghan’s life as a divorced American actress. The plot will develop around the circumstances of their first meeting, their initial courtship that they were able to keep under wraps, and the subsequent fairy-tale love story and feature scenes of their lives before they got together.

Prince Harry and Suits star Markle met in July 2016, embarking on a worldwide romance that spanned Harry’s native country, Great Britain, Canada, where Markle filmed Suits, and Africa.

The film will be directed by Los Angeles-based, British-Bangladeshi film and TV director Menhaj Huda whose credits include another royal biopic, The Royals, as well as Kidulthood, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Fitz-Henley recurred as Reva Connors in Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. He other TV credits include The Girlfriend Experience and, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and Midnight, Texas.
