Nicki Micheaux (Lincoln Heights, Soul Food) has been cast alongside Dorian Missick (Southland, 9 Rides) on the upcoming TNT drama Animal Kingdom.  It centers on 17-year-old Joshua “J” Cody (Finn Cole), who moves in with his wild, freewheeling grandmother (Ellen Barkin) and uncles in their Southern California beach town after his mother ODs. He is pulled into their life of indulgence and excess and soon discovers that it’s all being funded by the bank robberies they commit.

Micheaux will play Sandra Yates, a sharp, focused detective who will stop at nothing to prove that she’s right about the Cody family. Missick is Patrick, a tough cop with a sweet spot for Catherine (Daniella Alonso).

Micheaux has had many recurring appearances on various television shows including The Shield, Six Feet Under, Soul Food.  She for 4 seasons she starred on the hit ABC Family series Lincoln Heights which garnered her two NAACP Image Award Nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.  Lincoln Heights also won the NAACP award for Outstanding Drama Series.

Animal Kingdom will premiere on TNT on June 7th
