Netflix has announced a slew of season/series premiere dates for its original series round-up, including the TV adaptation Dear White People and the return prison-memoir hit, Orange is the New Black!

Dear White People is based on Justin Simien’s 2014 film of the same name. The TV adaptation will star Logan Browning as Samantha White, a biracial student at the mostly-White-attended Winchester University whose titular radio show and “Ebony and Ivory” book catapults her into the spotlight amongst the campus. Brandon P. Bell will reprise his film role as Troy Fairbanks, a political science student campaigning to become the first Black Student president of the college.

Lionsgate is producing the series, which premieres on April 28. Simien, who also directed the film, will write all 10 episodes and direct the pilot. Yvette Lee Bowser (Black-ish, A Different World, Living Single), Stephanie Allain (Hustle & Flow, Dear White People) and Julia Lebedev (The Dinner, Dear White People) also serve as executive producers.

Also a Lionsgate production, Orange is the New Black will return for its high-anticipated fifth season this summer on June 9. Starring Danielle Brooks, Dascha Polanco, Uzo Aduba and more, the series left off at a cliffhanger and fans are definitely eager to find out what’s to come for the inmates at Litchfield.

Overall, Netflix is continuing its hype train at full speed ahead! You can watch the trailer that Netflix recently dropped for Dear White People below!
