Last week, we noted that Underground co-creator, Misha Green had a hot spec circulating the Hollywood streets, titled Mother, an action-thriller centered around a female protagonist and was written in hopes of a potential action franchise.

It has been confirmed that Netflix outbid several suitors for the action thriller!  According to Deadline, several bidders chased this script that revolved around a female protagonist in a scenario reminiscent of The Professional and La Femme Nikita that has franchise potential. The LEGO Batman Movie producer Roy Lee will produce the film and Green will also be a producer.

In addition to this news, Green is set to write the pilot for Lovecraft Country, a one-hour drama given straight-to-series order by HBO. Lovecraft Country will be produced by Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Warner Bros Television. Green is repped by attorney, Nina Shaw.

Good luck to Misha Green! We wish her much success with this new project!
