Michael Michele (ER) will join the Fox series Star Season 2 as a series regular.

Michele will play Ayanna, described as a modern day black Alexis Carrington. She’s the new president of the girls’ record label, and money is the bottom line for her. She knows the music business is changing and is driven to do whatever it takes to make her label relevant.

Set in Atlanta, Star revolves around three talented young singers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success.  Michele will join a cast including  Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Nicholas Gonzalez, Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady, Ryan Destiny, Amiyah Scott, Quincy Brown and Miss Lawrence.

Michele is known for her role on the television series ER from 1999–2002. She appeared in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit the fourth season of House, and in the Hallmark Channel original movie Relative Stranger with fellow ER cast member Eriq La Salle. Most recently, Michele had a recurring role on the CW teen drama Gossip Girl.
