Jamie Foxx’s brainchild, White Famous, has been picked up by Showtime, which handed out a series order starring Saturday Night Live alum, Jay Pharoah, as Floyd Mooney. The series will follow Floyd as his star rises toward crossover “white famous” appeal, forcing him to navigate the challenging balance of maintaining his credibility. Californication’s Tom Kapinos penned the series’ script, while Think Like a Man’s Tim Story directed the pilot and will also be serving as Executive Producer.

The beautifully talented, Megalyn Echikunwoke of Showtime’s House of Lies will co-star as Floyd’s ex-girlfriend Sadie, the love of his life and the mother of his son. Echikunwoke has also appeared in the CBS legal drama, Made in Jersey and co-starred in the ABC drama series, Mind Games.

A premiere date for White Famous has not yet been confirmed.
