Without A Trace star Marianne Jean-Baptiste, is set to star opposite Julia Roberts in Amazon’s upcoming half-hour drama Homecoming.

Based on Gimlet Media’s breakout fictional podcast of the same name, the series is a psychological thriller that centers on Heidi (Roberts), a caseworker at a secret government facility, and a soldier eager to rejoin civilian life.

Jean-Baptiste will play Gloria, Walter Cruz’s mother, who is anti-military, anti-government, anti-everything and grows suspicious about what may be happening with Walter at the facility.

In addition to Jean-Baptiste and Roberts, the cast includes, Brooke Bloom (Gypsy), Ayden Mayeri (New Girl) and Jacob Pitts (The Sinner), Bobby Cannaval, and Stephan James.

Jean-Baptiste is an English actress best known for her roles as Hortense Cumberbatch in Secrets & Lies, for which she was nominated for the Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.  Most recently she starred as a series regular in the NBC series Blindspot, and also recently wrapped production on Peter Strickland’s feature film In Fabric.  Jean-Baptiste can currently be seen in the Sony live-action/animated film Peter Rabbit.

We look forward to seeing Marianne in this new role!
