The eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama, Malia Obama, will be moving toward a fruitful part of her journey as she has secured an internship with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein!

The 18 year old will begin her position in The Weinstein Co.’s New York office in February after the Obama family finishes their vacation in Palm Springs. She will then attend Harvard University in the fall, after taking the year off following her high school graduation last June.

Obama has already dipped her toes into Hollywood as she worked as an intern in New York on Lena Dunham’s HBO series Girls. She also spent some time on the Halley Berry series Extant at CBS.

The Weinstein Co. is headed by brothers Harvey and Rob Weinstein and is the acclaimed studio behind such Oscar-winning films as The Artist and The King’s Speech. Weinstein is also a loyal donor to Democratic campaigns, including Barack Obama’s and most recently worked on the Hillary Clinton campaign this past year.

This is exciting news for Obama and we’re sure she’ll excel in the role!
