British actress, Maisie Richardson Sellers, has joined the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow as the newest Vixen in the series.  Legends of Tomorrow, revolves around time traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) who travels back in time to the present day where he brings together a team of heroes and villains in an attempt to prevent Savage from destroying the world and time itself.

In the upcoming season of Legends, Richardson-Sellers will replace Megalyn Echikunwoke, and will play Amaye Jiwe who is the newest superhero to join the ranks of the Legends of Tomorrow.  Her powers are derived from the mysterious Tantu Totem, which allows her to magically access the abilities of animals.  Amaye Jiwe is the grandmother of the Vixen Mari McCabe, portrayed by Megalyn Echikunwoke in a separate Arrowverse series.  Richardson-Sellers will actually replace Echikunwoke in this series; however, the twist will allow Echikunwoke to continue to voice the character on the online animated Arrowverse spinoff Vixen, which could possibly leave the door open to a cross-generational team up later down the line.

Richardson-Sellers is an Oxford graduate who starred in the CW series The Originals.  She then went on to star in the short lived ABC series Of Kings & Prophets, and last year, she was featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, Chris Fedak and Sarah Schechter, and returns Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
