Rising star, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) is set to star in a new horror-thriller entitled Sweetheart! Blumhouse Productions will be teaming up again with JD Dillard, director of 2016 Sundance darling, Sleight. Dillard co-wrote the Sweetheart script with his Sleight writing partner Alex Theurer and Alex Hyner. The producing team will consist of Dillard, Theurer, Hyner, Jason Blum and Bill Karesh.

The plot hasn’t yet been revealed and all details are being kept under wraps, as is reportedly the Blumhouse way. Only thing we know at the moment is that it’s been described as “a survival-horror pic.”

Clemons has been making waves with star appeal following her breakout role in Dope. She has also appeared as one of the sorority sisters in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and landed the role of Iris West in the Warner Bros. DC Comics-based flick, The Flash. She also has TV credits, appearing in such series as Amazon’s Transparent and CBS’ Extant. She even nabbed a music video credit, appearing in Lady Gaga’s auteur-esque music video for “Til It Happens to You.” Her 2017 is looking to be promising as she has a few more films rolling out, including the Flatliners remake and The Only Living Boy in New York.

Kiersey Clemons is definitely a star to watch and we look forward to seeing more of her!
