With Scandal coming to an end of the season, it looks like Kerry Washington is quickly lining up projects!  Washington is officially set to executive produce a new drama series titled Five Points for Facebook.

The series is set on the South Side of Chicago and takes a look at high school students from five unique points of view. When a life changing event occurs, all of these different perspectives will be necessary to understand the truth. The cast currently includes Hayley Kiyoko (CSI: Cyber) and actress and model Madison Pettis. It will air on Watch, Facebook’s new platform for original shows.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Indigenous and Facebook in order to tell this important, thought provoking and compelling story,” Washington said.

Washington will executive produce under her Simpson Street Productions banner.

“We are thrilled to have the incredibly talented Kerry Washington join our producing team,” said Jon Avnet, co-founder of Indigenous Media. “Her strong perspective coupled with Thomas Carter’s gifted direction will take ‘Five Points’ to the next level.”

Last year, Washington signed an overall deal with ABC Studios for her newly launched production company Simpson Street (named after the street where Washington’s mom grew up in the Bronx).  Under the two-year agreement, Simpson Street will develop broadcast, cable and digital projects exclusively for ABC Studios and ABC Signature.  Washington is also executive producing ABC drama project Patrol, about four female LAPD officers, which is written by Chitra Elizabeth Sampath.  Simpson Street’s first movie was the HBO film Confirmation, in which Washington starred as attorney and academic Anita Hill, and she is currently developing feature films based on the books The City of Saints and Thieves with Will Packer and Universal; The Perfect Mother, which is set up at TriStar; and The Mothers at Warner Bros. The busy Scandal star is also part of the voice cast of Disney’s upcoming Cars 3, and is set to produce 24-7, a workplace comedy acquired by Universal.
