ABC Studios and Amblin TV are joining forces to finance a comedy pilot presentation from reality stars and hip-hop couple Justine Simmons and Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons!

The pitch received strong interest by multiple networks and Amblin TV co-presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey strongly believe in the project and in the chemistry between Rev Run and Justine. A shortened version of the original script by Jeremy Bronson will be filmed at the beginning of April at ABC Studios, with Don Scardino directing. Casting is underway and once completed, the presentation will be shopped to streaming platforms as well as to traditional networks.

The untitled Rev Run/Justine Simmons project, supervised by veteran comedy writer-producer Jhoni Marchinko, will center on a legendary rapper whose plans for slowing down are thwarted when his wife decides to pursue her own dreams and stardom. Executive produced by Bronson, Marchinko, Rev Run Simmons & Justine Simmons, Michael Lehman of Simmons Lehman Productions, and Amblin TV’s Frank and Falvey, the comedy project is fictional and not based or inspired by the Simmons couple.

Justine Simmons sells a jewelry line entiteld, “Brown Sugar” that was featured on HSN in 2007. Along with her husband and family, she found a new audience and reality stardom with the popular MTV series Run’s House, which ran for six seasons. Given the chemistry and comedy-fodder from the duo, this is sure to be a hilarious project!
