Comedian Jessica Williams is definitely racking up the roles, and she is certainly is on everyone’s radar! Last month we announced that Williams’ comedy series landed at Showtime, and now it has been announced that she will be starring alongside Eddie Redmayne in the Warner Bros.’ sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The specifics of Williams’ role have not been disclosed; however, we are excited to see her in this new role!

The untitled sequel has been dated for a release on Nov. 16, 2018. David Yates, who directed Fantastic Beasts and the final four Harry Potter installments, is returning to helm the second film in the Harry Potter prequel series from a script by Harry Potter creator Rowling. She revealed a year ago that the spinoff franchise would consist of five films.

The first film, set in the 1920s in New York City, was released last November and grossed $814 million worldwide. Warner Bros. has not yet revealed when third, fourth and fifth films will be released.

Williams left The Daily Show last year, after four years of being on the show, to work on a scripted project of her own for Comedy Central alongside Naomi Ekperigin.  In addition to her upcoming scripted project, she has a podcast titled 2 Dope Queens, which she produces with fellow comedienne Phoebe Robinson. Williams recently starred in hit Netflix comedy The Incredible Jessica James, and as we mentioned above, she will also be starring in an upcoming Showtime comedy.

We are beyond excited for all of the great news surrounding Jessica Williams, and we look forward to her upcoming projects!
