HBO’s drama series, The Leftovers has a confirmed return date! The hit series will return for a third and final season on Sunday, April 16 at 9/10pm ET/PT.

The Peabody Award-winning show was created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta and follows the global cataclysm called “The Sudden Departure,” when 140 million people disappeared without a trace. Three years later, the Mapleton, N.Y. residents encounter intense grief, cynicism, paranoia, madness which leads some of the traumatized citizens to join the cult-light group, Guilty Remnant.

The Leftovers focuses on the Garvey and Murphy families who have to come together in order to find an explanation to what seems unexplainable. Regina King portrays the Murphy matriarch, Erika, and Jasmin Savoy Brown portrays one of Erika’s teenaged-twins, Evie.

The cast includes Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka.

The Leftovers is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television.
