CBS is developing drama True Conviction based on the well-received documentary, from Erica Shelton Kodish, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s Tribeca Productions, and co-executive producer Angel Dean Lopez.

Written by Shelton Kodish and Lopez and to be directed by Gordon, the True Conviction TV project centers on three exonerated men in Dallas who team up to investigate cases of all kinds in an attempt to balance the scales of justice, while rebuilding their lives and navigating the newfound perils of a world that has moved on without them. Shelton Kodish and Lopez executive produce with Gordon, along with Tribeca’s Rosenthal, De Niro and Berry Welsh.

Sheldon Kodish just wrapped season 4 of the BET drama series Being Mary Jane where she succeeded creator Mara Brock Akil as showrunner/executive producer.

Shelton Kodish began her career in 2005 writing episodes of CSI: NY.  She has worked on shows such as the legal series Close to Home, the police-procedural series Cold Case, the medical drama HawthoRNe, and served as a series writer and producer for the USA Network political drama Covert AffairsShelton Kodish also served as co-executive producer for The Good Wife.
