Despite major strides in diversifying television the stats on writers in Hollywood are still fairly dismal. Minorities make up 13.7 percent of writers rooms while comprising 37.9 percent of the population nationwide, with only 10 individuals of color (out of 73). Talent development and “inclusion” programs, are a key part of writers room staffing. These programs are all about removing as many barriers to entry as possible.

The Junior Hollywood Radio and Television Society (JHRTS) is hosting a panel that will share the ins and outs of some of the most elite television writing programs in Hollywood on Wednesday, March 30th at 8:00pm.
