Diarra Kilpatrick’s series The Climb will join Amazon’s upcoming fall pilot season!

The Climb follows an office assistant who seeks an extraordinary life through internet fame, with her best friend always in tow. Chris Robinson (The New Edition Story, Star) directed the pilot, which is set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing Detroit.  Christina Lee (Search Party, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp) served as showrunner on the pilot episode. The Mark Gordon Company (Designated Survivor, Ray Donovan) is producing and serving as the studio on the project along with Amazon Studios.

The Climb hails from creator and star Kilpatrick (American Koko, The Last O.G.) and the Mark Gordon Co. The Detroit-set comedy follows an office assistant who seeks an extraordinary life through Internet fame. from MPK Productions in association with Warner Bros Television and Amazon Studios.

Kilpatrick is a writer, actress, and director who was selected as one of the 11 2015 honorees of the WGA’s Writers Access Program for her drama pilot The Dirty Dozen. Her American Koko digital series, originally produced for her YouTube channel, received the Best Web Series Award at the American Black Film Festival. It was acquired by ABCd, with Viola Davis producing via JuVee Productions. Her other credits include SouthlandPrivate PracticeMike & Molly and Disaster Date.
