The Sundance Film Festival continues to rollout ts 2017 program and has announced multiple sections, including Premieres, Documentary Premieres, Midnight, Spotlight and Special Events. This year, Dee Rees’ (Pariah, Bessie) highly anticipated upcoming feature film, Mudbound, will make it’s world premier at the festival. The film takes place in the southern United States after World War II, when two families endure the burden of cruel social hierarchy as they wage war at home and abroad. It stars Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Jason Mitchell, Mary J. Blige, Garrett Hedlund, and Jonathan Banks.
Mudbound will be executive produced by Poppy Hanks and produced by Charles King, Kim Roth, Cassian Elwes, Sally Jo Effenson, Carl Effenson, Chris Lemole and Tim Zajaros. MACRO will co-finance this project with Zeal, and Good Universe will sell foreign rights.
