Director Dee Rees (Pariah, Mudbound) has been added to the list of speakers for the PGA’s fourth annual Produced By: New York conference. It will be held on October 28th at the TimeWarner Center in New York.

She will take part in “Producers’ Masterclass: The Power of Creative Collaboration” that will be led by Bruce Cohen (American Beauty). The panel will also include Charles D. King (Founder & CEO, MACRO), Peter Spears (Call Me By Your Name), and Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name), and they will talk about the filmmaking process and how their partnerships provide the defining elements of their memorable films.

Ever since Dee Rees’ Mudbound first premiered at Sundance in January it has been one of the most talked-about films of the year, and the film is already in gear to take the fall season by storm as well.  The film was acquired by Netflix for $12.5 million, and this could be the streaming giant’s first major Oscar contender, and Dee Rees could become the first black woman to ever be nominated for Best Director.

Mudbound recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released theatrically in November.
