WATCH: ‘Creed 2’ First Trailer Starring Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, & Michael B. Jordan

MGM has officially dropped the first official trailer for Creed 2 starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, and Phylicia Rashad, and it’s everything that we could have ever imagined.  The sequel is being directed by Steven Caple Jr., who will take over the Rocky spinoff franchise from Ryan Coogler.

In the beginning of the trailer we see Adonis Creed (Jordan) suffer a major blow during a fight, before it cuts to a scene of the boxer’s girlfriend Bianca (Thompson) standing over his hospital bed. The rest shows Creed training under the guidance of his mentor and cornerman Rocky Balboa (Stallone). There’s a really cool scene of Creed boxing underwater, and we get a nice Drago tease at the end.

“Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life,” the synopsis of the film reads. “Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family.”

This new film was written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker, the scribe who worked as showrunner on Marvel’s Luke Cage.

Creed 2 is scheduled to hit in theaters on Nov. 21. Check out the above trailer and let us know what you think!
