Powerhouse director Ava DuVernay is dominating the scene in both film and television.  She recently directed the upcoming Disney adaptation A Wrinkle in Time, and is gearing up for production on the 3rd season of the OWN hit series Queen Sugar.  In addition to these two projects, it was just announced that her racial drama pilot titled Red Line was just picked up by CBS!

According to the official synopsis, Red Line follows the events that occur after a white cop in Chicago mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor. The story is told from the POV of three different families that all have connections with the case. Caitlin Parrish (Supergirl, Under the Dome) and Erica Weiss will write the script and co-executive produce the drama.

DuVernay will exec produce the series alongside Greg Berlanti, Warner Bros. and his head of television Sarah Schechter.

We are excited to learn about this new project and will certainly keep you updated as we receive more information, nonetheless, Ava DuVernay continues to be an inspirational force of nature for us all!
