Carmen Ejogo (Alien: Covenant) has joined the cast of the Sony’s untitled Denzel Washington thriller.

The project, formerly known as Inner City, is being written and directed by Dan Gilror (Nightcrawler).

The script tells the story of a Los Angeles attorney who is offered a job at a prestigious law firm after the death of his longtime partner and takes on a case that has life-altering repercussions.

Ejogo has been cast as one of the female leads, a worker at a civil rights organization.

The film is being co-produced and co-financed by Charles D. King’s Macro, Sony Pictures, Cross Creek Pictures, Image Nation, Topic and Bron.

Ejogo recently appeared on screen in the horror movie It Comes at Night and appeared in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as Seraphina Picquery.  Her credits also include films such as Sparkle and Alex Cross, and she is set to star in the second season of the Starz drama series, The Girlfriend Experience!
