Veteran actress Margaret Avery (The Color Purple), legendary director Julie Dash (Daughters of the Dust), Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Fruitvale Station producer Nina Yang Bongiovi, and blockbuster script supervisor Dawn Gilliam (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will be honored for their contributions in film and television during this years BronzeLens Women Superstars Luncheon. The luncheon is part of the annual BonzeLens Film Festival in Atlanta, and will take place on Friday, August 26.

The annual luncheon pays homage to legendary African-American women who are who are constantly pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and making history in film and television. The BronzeLens Film Festival has been committed to promoting and championing black women in Hollywood over the last 7 years, and this awards ceremony acknowledges and honors the amazing black women who work tirelessly in front of and behind the camera.
