An amazing featurette for Marvel’s highly anticipated film Black Panther has been released!  The clip gives us a glimpse into the warrior culture of the Dora Milaje and even allows us to see a few fight scenes that go down in the film!  In addition to the scenes that are revealed that increase our anticipation for this brilliant film, Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira explain what makes their characters tick when it comes to combat.

Black Panther takes place in the the technologically advanced African nation Wakanda.  T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is now king of Wakanda following the death of his father, T’Chaka (John Kani), but there’s no time for orientation. Threats from inside Wakanda and out have little sympathy that he’s a newcomer both to the throne and the Avengers, so T’Challa has to figure out, in the words of fighter Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), “what kind of king [he is] going to be.”

Black Panther, created by Stan Lee, first appeared in a Marvel comic in 1966 (just before the naming of the Black Panther Party), making him the first black superhero in mainstream comics. Black Panther the movie, directed by Ryan Coogler, will be the first Marvel movie with a predominately black cast.

The film also stars Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, and Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. The film is produced by Kevin Feige with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nate Moore, Jeffrey Chernov and Stan Lee serving as executive producers; Coogler and Joe Robert Cole wrote the screenplay.

Black Panther opens February 16th, so be sure to grab your tickets!
