WATCH: First Look at ‘Black Love’ Docuseries Directed By Codie Elaine Oliver to Air on OWN

Oprah Winfrey’s OWN has officially decided to make black love into a docuseries of the same name, and the series will be helmed by filmmakers Codie Elaine Oliver and Tommy Oliver (The Perfect Guy) and Confluential Films for the new show, Black Love.

The series highlights love stories from the black community and focuses on answering the burning question, “What is the secret to making a marriage work?” The show will dive into how love begins while showing the reality of what lifelong love looks like, and will offer proof that it can happen for everyone. The show will be honest, emotional and sometimes cringeworthy, but it will always champion true black love stories.

Black Love will feature Oscar-winning Viola Davis and her husband, Julius Tennon; Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin; Tia Mowry and her husband, actor Cory Hardrict; Flex Alexander and Grammy-nominated recording artist Shanice; Erica Campbell and her husband music producer Warryn Campbell; and many additional couples from around the country.

Be sure to tune in to Black Love on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and check out the extended trailer above!
