Just by the title alone, you know that this news is epic!  From the looks of things, former San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s life story is getting ready to come to life on the small screen, and the project will be helmed by powerhouse director Ava DuVernay!

The project will revolve around Kaepernick and his life during his high school years.  According to an article in Vanity Fair, this project is said to be delivered in the format of a comedy sitcom.

DuVernay has yet to publicly make a comment on her involvement with this project; however, we have every reason to believe that this epic project is in the works considering DuVernay’s excitement on sharing Kaepernick’s story.

In a 2017 interview with GQ, DuVernay shared, “I think his actions have been inspiring to so many people.  I see what he’s done as art. I believe that art is seeing the world that doesn’t exist. You know a lot of people excel at creativity — making TV, movies, painting, writing books — but you can be an artist in your own life. Civil-rights activists are artists. Athletes are artists. People who imagine something that is not there.”

We will certainly keep you posted on all of the updates, but we are beyond excited for this project, and can’t wait to see how this all unfolds!
