Angela Bassett (American Horror Story) is set to star in Fox drama series 911.  The series received a straight to series order at the Network, and will reunite Bassett with American Horror Story creators, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. 

The series will revolve around 911 operators and is written and executive produced by Murphy and Falchuk. Bassett will also serve as executive producer.

A premiere date has yet to be announced; however, is sources state that 911 is targeting a mid-season launch

Bassett’s career has spanned well over two decades.  She has starred in classic 90’s films such as Boyz ‘N the Hood, The Jacksons: An American Dream, Malcolm X, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Waiting to Exhale, What’s Love Got To Do With It, and more.  Most recently she was seen on the big screen in London Has Fallen, and in the Spike Lee adaptation of Lysistrata, Chi-Raq.  Late last year it was also announced that Bassett joined the cast of Marvel’s Black Panther directed by Creed helmer Ryan Coogler, and she can currently be seen on the latest installment of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story.
