The 21st American Black Film Festival will return to Miami June 14-18, 2017, with actress Regina Hall as this year’s celebrity ambassador.

The American Black Film Festival is now accepting film submissions in the following categories:

Web Originals – deadline February 20, 2017

Documentaries – deadline February 24, 2017

HBO Short Film Competition – deadline February 28, 2017

Narrative Features – deadline March 1, 2017

Submissions for The American Black Film Festival Talent Discovery Programs are now open and include the following:

ABFF Comedy Wings Competition, sponsored by HBO, is a national search to identify outstanding comedic talent. People who demonstrate a natural ability to be funny – deadline is February 24, 2017.  .

TV ONE Screenplay Competition, is a competition meant to encourage and promote the production of creative, contemporary, engaging and relatable screenplays that can be turned into original movies for television – deadline is February 16, 2017.

NBC Hosting Workshop is a three-day workshop targeted for intermediate and advanced level hosts who want to sharpen their hosting skills and techniques – deadline is March 17, 2017.
