Alfre Woodard has officially joined the cast of the DreamWorks film, Haunted.

The film revolves around a young woman who starts to work at a wealthy estate that she soon realizes is haunted.  She believes that the children may be possessed and begins to fear for her life. Woodard will play a woman who works at the mansion.

The script was penned by Chad Hayes & Carey Hayes, is based on Henry James’ novella Turn of the Screw.  Scott Bernstein, Roy Lee and John Middleton are producing the project, and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) is set to direct.

Woodard recently starred in films such as Mississippi Grind and Captain America: Civil War.  She can be seen next in the Marvel/Netflix series Luke Cage, playing Harlem politician Mariah Dillard.  The series begins streaming service on September 30, and she is currently shooting Netflix’s upcoming series A Series of Unfortunate Events.
