Upcoming ABC drama The Rookie has cast actress Afton Williamson (The Night Of, The Breaks).  Williamson will star in the series opposite Eric Winter and Nathan Fillion.

Inspired by a true story, The Rookie follows John Nolan (Fillion), the oldest rookie in the LAPD. At an age where most are at the peak of their career, Nolan cast aside his comfortable, small town life and moved to L.A. to pursue his dream of being a cop. Now, surrounded by rookies twenty years his junior, Nolan must navigate the dangerous, humorous and unpredictable world of a “young” cop, determined to make his second shot at life count.

Williamson will play Talia Bishop, a newly promoted training officer whose first assignment is Fillion’s forty year old rookie.

Later she has made her television debut appearing in an episode of The Good Wife, and then went on to guest star on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloods, and Elementary. She had a recurring roles on CBS drama A Gifted Man from 2011 to 2012, and had series regular role in the Cinemax network original series Banshee. In film, she has made her debut playing supporting role opposite Adepero Oduye in the 2011 drama Pariah directed by Dee Rees.
