The American Film Institute (AFI) is hosting its Annual AFI Conservatory Directing Workshop for Women Showcase (AFI DWW) Tuesday April 12th at 7:00pm at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) in Los Angeles.  During this event, ten directors from the class of 2015 will be given the opportunity to premiere their work to an invite only audience consisting of select members from the creative community.

A member from the AFI DWW class of 2012, Sarah Gertrude Shapiro (Unreal), will deliver the opening keynote speech.  The event will be hosted by Lifetime, who guarantees employment to all DWW graduates as of the class of 2015 through its Broad Focus initiative (a major initiative designed to provide women with more opportunities to write, develop, produce and direct content for the network).

The 10 directors showcasing their works this year are Amy Barrett, Christine Boylan, Dime Davis, Claire Fowler, Mia Lidofsky, Erica Liu, Bella Monticelli, Rebecca Murga, Philiane Phang and Chelsea Woods.

The AFI DWW class of 2016 will also be featured during the showcase.

The tuition-free workshop provides women, with three or more years of professional experience in the field, the opportunity to further their careers.  Please click HERE for a list of all a brief bio for all of the 2015 participants.  For information on how to apply for this workshop, please click HERE
